British families are evacuated from Bordeaux hotel at 3.30am as wildfires sweep across France and Spain

Families staying at the Holiday Inn in Mérignac, just north of Bordeaux Airport, were given a 3.30am wake-up call by staff who told them that smoke billowing across from the fires.
