Senate votes to advance GOP funding bill, allowing for vote to avoid shutdown

Senate Republicans and some Democrats voted to advance a stopgap funding bill which clears the path for a final vote to avert a government shutdown. The 62-38 vote included 10 Democrats joining all but one Republican in voting in favor.
