President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order, which adds a $100,000 fee to H-1B visa applications. But according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, it won't be an annual fee as the administration initially said it would be. During the signing at the Oval Office on Friday, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said multiple times that the fee would be applied per year. In a follow-up X post on Saturday, however, Leavitt wrote "to be clear," the fee is not annual but "one-time fee that applies only to the petition."
